Wakefield Girls’ High School

Residential Home Afternoon Tea Party

Our first ever Residential Home Afternoon Tea Party was a wonderful success. Sixty eight residents from seven different local residential homes attended Wakefield Girls’ High School to enjoy cake and scones made by our talented girls.

Visitors arrived from Walton Manor, Brantwood Hall, Flanshaw Lodge, Inwood House, Sherwood Court and Glynn Residential and it was so wonderful to see so many Old Girls in attendance. Joan, aged 90 from Brantwood Hall attended with her two daughters, all of whom are Old Girls.

Our Year 12 girls served the Afternoon Tea delights and enjoyed chatting to visitors and hearing the wonderful school stories from yesteryear. All Old Girls were presented with a keepsake school shield, pin badge and a copy of their school record card.

We hold many events for our local community and it is always a pleasure to give back to our community, but this event was a particularly special event and the first of many as we look to hold similar events in the future.
