Food and Nutrition

Ethos of Department

It is envisaged that every girl who studies Food and Nutrition at Wakefield Girls' High School should leave school with an exciting food culture, a repertoire of tried and tested recipes and an ability to cook and to care nutritionally for themselves and others. Girls will learn about healthy eating through the practical application of healthy eating messages and should be empowered to make informed decisions about purchasing and eating food. Girls will be encouraged to have a positive relationship with food. The department aims to help girls to achieve the best that they can achieve by creating a stimulating, engaging and challenging environment to work in.
