Join us and travel back in time to discover and explore daily life in the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum in AD79. As you discover how the Romans lived and worked in their cities, how they entertained themselves and about their relationships with their gods, watch out as Mount Vesuvius errupts! You will take on the role of a news reporter and working together with other reporters in your news team, you will report on the breaking news stories that interrupt your day. There are deadlines to meet to have regular news bulletins ready to be posted in the city centre. You will discover how the Romans reacted to a volcanic eruption and how it affected the lives of the people who lived in its shadow.
The event is for Year 5 girls who have an interest in learning more about the Ancient World (and volcanoes!).
You will have lots of fun learning about Romans as well as developing skills such as analysing, team-working and reporting.
