WGHS Junior School provides out-of-school care for all girls, offering parents flexibility and the reassurance that their daughter is well-cared for before school and after the end of the school day.
Parents are encouraged to book regular After School sessions in advance, but may occasionally contact the school the day before.
Early morning care is available in Mulberry House Hall from 7.45am for Nursery children and girls in Reception to Year 2. They are able to enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor games to stimulate their minds before the school day commences.
St John's House playground is fully supervised from 7.45am for girls in Year 3 upwards.
Year 6 girls may visit 'Peppers' in Senior School before school for breakfast. They must bring a permission letter from home and have authorisation before their first visit.
After School Care is available to all pupils in the Junior School until 6.00pm. A wide range of supervised activities is available, or girls can take the opportunity to relax at the end of a busy school day. However, if Junior girls wish to do their homework, there is a dedicated homework table for them to use.
Pupils staying after 4.30pm are provided with a light healthy tea of sandwiches and fruit. Girls can join After-School Care following a school club or activity. Sessions, with fully-qualified and experienced staff, are held in Mulberry House Hall. Parents are encouraged to book regular sessions in advance and the nominal charge (payment in arrears) is settled termly.
Girls in Reception to Year 2 who have a sibling in the Foundation Schools may wait in the waiting room in Mulberry House until 3.50pm (there is no charge for this facility). At 3.50pm any remaining girls will be brought down to the After School Club and a charge will be incurred.
