QEGS boys celebrate outstanding GCSE Results

Students and teachers at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School are celebrating another year of GCSE success with the majority of grades in the top 9-7 bracket and a pass rate close to 100%.

There were a number of standout performances including Jacob Lonsdale and Niral Shetty who both achieved the holy grail of straight 9s (A** in old money). Indeed, half of the 100 or so boys achieved at least one of these coveted 9s, which sets them up nicely for their A Levels and beyond.

Headmaster David Craig congratulated the students for their hard work and well-deserved success:

“Lots of happy faces this morning as envelopes were opened. Many of these boys have spent the summer representing the school on music tours to Europe or sports tours to South Africa, Japan and Singapore. Many others were popping in to get their results before heading back to the Leeds Fest! Well done to everybody – now for those A Levels!”
