Welcome from Mr Shevill

QEGS is one of the top independent boys’ schools in the country and has been educating boys for over 400 years.

During that time, headmasters, teachers and support staff have been committed to creating an environment that promotes academic excellence, provides inspiration and a wealth of opportunities for self-expression through sport, music, art and drama.

During their time at our school boys will experience an education that is both energetic and fun, looking forward to new experiences every day. We have a staff at QEGS that, whatever their role, are committed to providing the best possible educational opportunities and care for all our boys, encouraging them to meet new challenges and supporting them when they get it wrong.

QEGS has some excellent facilities and is feted by the Independent School Inspectorate. We are determined to create a school where boys treat one another with respect and dignity along with developing a confident sense of their individuality.

We also wish them develop resilience for the challenges they may encounter in the modern world and to have a sense of proportion and a sense of humour in all that they deal with in their daily experience.
