There are many dedicated clubs and societies which add breadth to WGHS life, not just catering for mainstream interests but also more specialist interests at the request of girls.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is very well supported and the school is immensely proud to be one of the largest DofE centres in England. Girls can take part in Community Service helping in local Junior Schools, visiting the elderly, and supporting the work of Pinderfields Hospital and Wakefield Hospice.
