Sport continues to flourish at WGHS. We aim to ensure there is something for everyone to participate in and enjoy. Extensive fixture lists in all major team sports are designed to cater for all talents and many girls have the opportunity to represent the school in their chosen sport.

- Extensive facilities include an on-site gymnasium, fitness suite and pavilion, games fields with a further pavilion and an all weather Astroturf
- The 'Three Countries Tour' took hockey and netball squads to Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore. Two years ago saw a tour to South Africa and Namibia
- Sports include hockey, netball, basketball, badminton, athletics, tennis, swimming, fitness training and gymnastics
- Individual and team successes have been achieved in regional and national competitions
- In 2011, the U16 Hockey team were crowned national Champions in the National Schools' Cup
