Welcome from Mrs Wallwork
Traditional and yet forward thinking, the school is busy, purposeful, fun and yet also calm and disciplined, full of girls who are proud to belong and who respect their environment. With a fine reputation for high expectations and academic attainment, supported by outstanding pastoral care, the school continues to educate girls who are eager to learn and willing to participate fully in all the school has to offer in order to discover their talents. Every talent is nurtured and celebrated; each girl is valued. High School girls benefit from a rounded education and rich cultural life, meaning that the possibilities for them are endless. A broad extra curricular programme and the range of trips, both at home and abroad, expand horizons, challenge and inspire.
Proud of its girls’ school foundation, the WGHS Senior School curriculum and teaching are designed to allow girls the space to grow into confident young women. Girls work to their strengths, build friendships to last a lifetime, have plenty of opportunities to lead and to succeed but also the chance to take risks or make mistakes in their learning. They come to have faith in their own potential, abilities and resilience. Whilst enjoying all the advantages of a single sex education, the joint foundation with the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School means girls can mix with boys socially and in a wide range of shared activities. Our girls are our best ambassadors. Articulate yet modest, they are the next generation of well educated professionals, with high aspirations and a proud heritage. You can meet them and their teachers at one of our Information Mornings or simply make an appointment for a tour of the school on a normal working day to soak up the atmosphere and see if this is the place where it will all begin for your daughter.
