Wakefield Girls’ High School

Leadership Opportunities

From Year 3 girls are given the opportunity to assume responsibility which we feel is a vital part of their education.

Within the class, this takes the form of roles such as Form Captain, Vice Form Captain, Games Captain, Vice Games Captain and School Council Representative.

They are enthusiastic, fair and organised in their respective roles and set the tone for the whole Junior School by embracing the breadth of school life.

Girls representing the school in sport may also have the opportunity to be a team captain, and girls can also become Library of Eco Monitors. Year 6 girls hold the positions of House Captains, and each term a Head Girl and Deputy Head are appointed.

All these opportunities allow the girls to acquire leadership skills from a young age and learn how to represent the interests of others.
