Girls transfer from the Junior School to Senior School at the age of 11, well prepared and excited about the next stage of their education, where they are joined by girls from other independent and LEA schools.

- WGHS Senior School is a happy, thriving community which builds upon the strong traditions of the Junior School
- A pastoral programme of induction makes transition to the Senior School as smooth as possible
- By the time the girls start on their first day they will have met their Form Tutor and new classmates
- A week of outdoors activities takes place a few weeks after starting in Year 7, giving girls the opportunity to get to know their teachers, new classmates and form friendships which will last a lifetime
- Many opportunities exist for joint ensembles and performances with QEGS
- In the Sixth Form many girls study subjects taught jointly with boys from QEGS
