WGHS Junior [Girls 4-11]

Whilst there is an emphasis upon the core subjects of literacy, numeracy and science, girls follow an enhanced curriculum which gives an important grounding in a broad range of subjects. Most teaching involves the use of interactive whiteboards.

  • Three classes in Years 2 to 6 with an average of 16 - 24 girls per class
  • There are two classes in Reception and Year 1
  • In Reception to Year 3 the majority of lessons are taught as a class by the class teacher
  • Specialist teaching increases through Years 4-6
  • The school has it's own specialist teaching facilities in both Mulberry House and St. John's House including music rooms, ICT Suites and a very well resourced fully computerised library
  • Girls benefit from using some Senior School specialist facilities such as Science Labs, DT Labs and the all weather Astroturf at the playing fields
