  • 11 boys got nine or more A*s - Sam Armstrong, Joseph Blythe, Marcus Brookes, David Duncan, Melvin Fung, Andrew Gair, Joshua Gardiner, James Jenkins, Ben Qureshi, Alexander Spencer-Taylor and Thomas Yems
  • 98.9% of boys got 5+ GCSE's at grade C and above
  • 40 boys gained 9 or more passes at A*/A grade
  • Ben Qureshi gained an amazing 10 A*s

David Craig, Headmaster "This year’s GCSE results are right up there with last summer’s record haul. Again, three quarters of papers were graded A*/A (including 45% A* - well up even on the 2011 high water mark.) We don’t follow the eBacc, preferring to give our boys more subject choice and a sprinkling of iGCSEs in their academic diets. It was therefore great to see the boys excelling in core subjects like English Literature, mathematics and science right the way across the spectrum to art and music. Lots of happy faces this morning – some with mums in tow, some strolling in casually, some disappearing into a quiet corner to open the dreaded envelope! I congratulate them all and look forward to them forming a formidable Sixth Form next month.”

IGCSE Maths

Since 2006 QEGS has opted to pursue iGCSE Mathematics for most students. The iGCSE examination furnishes students with the appropriate skills to succeed in all disciplines where mathematical knowledge is helpful and provides excellent preparation for study at A-Level and beyond.
