QEGS has an enviable reputation for sporting excellence with individual and team successes ranging from county to national honours. Sporting opportunities exist both within and outside of the curriculum for all ages, interests and abilities.

- Extensive facilities include sports hall, fitness centre, games fields and all weather Astroturf
- Regular sports tours take place at all ages
- Recent rugby tours have visited South Africa, South America and in 2009 the All Black and Gold Tour to Australia and New Zealand
- Other recent tours include Hockey to Australia and New Zealand and Cricket to Barbados
- Sports played include: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Cross-country, Fencing, Fitness Training, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Judo, Mountain Biking, Rugby, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis and Volleyball
