Pupils make full use of the specialist teaching facilities, with all departments equipped with the latest ICT resources. All pupils have a considerable learning and subject base before specialising at GCSE and at A-Level.

- Years 7-9 (KS3) follow a core curriculum led by specialist teachers
- Years 10-11 focus on the quality not quantity of GCSE grades
- Pupils study 9 full subjects to GCSE with a short course qualification in ICT
- Year 12 pupils study four subjects to AS Level
- Three or four subjects are continued to A2 Level, plus General Studies
- A-level subjects may be studied at QEGS or jointly with WGHS
