Art lessons from a famous artist

In the last week of term some of the boys in Year 5 and 6 were lucky to get the opportunity to meet Jack Attree, an esteemed artist who came in to deliver a personalised art lesson.

Jake spent time with the boys giving tips on drawing, talking about being an artist and helped the boys as they got to try their own hand at a spot of art. The drawings that came out of the lessons exemplified some remarkable artistic talent we have here in the QEGS walls.

Jake Attree

Jake Attree is a figurative artist in the sense that everything he paints is based on something he has observed and almost certainly drawn. No matter how far the paintings may depart from the subject that inspired them, they nevertheless are rooted in and dependent upon those initial observations. His work has shown widely in the UK over 25 years and he has also exhibited works in America, Holland and Germany.
