QEGS Junior School provides out of school care for all boys, which offers parents flexibility and the reassurance that their son is well cared for after the end of the school day.
There is a small charge for After School Care payable on a termly basis. Parents can choose to register their son by term, or where necessary on a casual day-to-day basis.
Centenary House boys can be dropped off at 8.00am for before school care, before joining their classes at 8.30am. Before School Care is fully supervised and takes place in the Centenary House Hall. This service is free of charge. For boys in Years 3 to 6, the main junior school playground is fully supervised from 8.00am, before boys join their classes at 8.45am for the start of the school day.
'Hoots' - Reception to Year 2
After school has finished boys can safely remain in a supervised classroom from 3.20 – 3.50pm. This classroom acts as a ‘Waiting Room’ to enable parents to collect younger boys just before older siblings. This service is free of charge. Boys requiring extended after school care attend ‘Hoots After School Club’. Based in the Centenary House Hall, this operates from the end of the school day and boys may be collected anytime up to 6.00pm. Boys can play games and use the Reception Outdoors area, as well as relax and enjoy a light tea of sandwiches and fruit
'Owls' - Years 3 to 6
Boys age 7-11 attend ‘Owls After School Club’ where they enjoy supervised activities utilising the computer suite, library and in the summer months the Millennium Garden. They enjoy a light tea of sandwiches and fruit before being collected by parents any time before 6.00pm. Boys are able to join OWLS following an after school activity such as Orchestra, Martial Arts, Tennis or Rugby Squad training.
