Sharing our Facilities

Another aspect of the Foundation’s public benefit is in the use of the schools’ grounds and facilities by public bodies, amateur arts or sports groups and other charitable organisations.

These groups use the school buildings or sports facilities at cost, below cost or in some exceptional cases free of charge.

The Foundation grants a license at no cost to Next Generation, a local youth group, for it to use the Foundation-owned Stanley Royd playing fields in Wakefield for junior sports, primarily football and cricket. The fields are also used by Next Generation for community events and they provide a focal point for young people in the area. WGSF continues to provide maintenance to the grounds at no cost.
